Thomas Kincade/Sketch challenge

I just love these Thomas Kincade stamps:)  They are beautiful whether you stamp them in just one color or if you watercolor them.  I can't get over all the detail on each stamp.  For this card, I used SCS's sketch challenge for this week.  Kraft is one of my favorite colors for Christmas.  It really goes with every color.   This time I started with a kraft cardstock base and spritzed it with an elegant eggplant marker and the color spritzer.  Next, I stamped the main image with Thomas Kincade's Silent Night in elegant eggplant ink.  With a barely banana marker I colored in the lights in the windows and the street light.  Next I went over the snow on the roof and on the ground with 2-way glue and sprinkled it with SU glitter. Two small strips of silver cardstock were attached to the top and bottom of the image.  Next, 2 strips of eggplant cardstock (1 1/2") were attached to the top and bottom of the image again.  Then, same thing with the silver cardstock.  Using a silver Encore pad, I stamped the "Happy Holidays" sentiment from SU Warmest Regards.  A piece of Kraft taffeta ribbon was attached underneath the sentiment and I added three vintage brads for decoration.

OKAY...with Halloween out of the way now, I'm thinking Christmas!  I love these Thomas Kincade stamps that you can get from Cornish Heritage Farms.  They are beautiful whether you color them completely or just stamp them in one color.  This time I stamped the Silent Night stamp in Bayou Blue on white paper.  I matted it to a piece of Basic Gray cardstock.  The background was created with the Flannel Plaid stamp inked in soft sky and stamped on a soft sky base.  A piece of bayou blue double stitched ribbon.  The saying is from the set Holiday Wishes from Papertrey Inks.  I love the wonderful sayings in this set.  I am not a huge fan of clear stamps but this time I can make an exception:)  I sponged around the saying in bayou blue and matte it to bayou and basic gray cardstock.  The saying and main image was attached with dimensionals.  I used diamond Stickles for the snow.

I slept great last night!! It was so wonderful not to wake up a hundred times to the sound of a mouse scratching inches from your  head (see post below)!  Dawn posted a comment that her neighbour had 15 of them!!  OMG....I would have been scarred for life!  One turned me into a basket case, lol!  I know that there are a lot worse things that can happen to you in life but honestly, there were times over the last week that I couldn't think of any!  Until my husband said...at least it wasn't a snake!  AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!  Good point!

These stamps are amazing!!

I got these Thomas Kincade stamps from Cornish Heritage Farms right before I left for holidays and I didn't get to use them.  I though about them for 2 weeks!!!!  They are so amazing!  When I first started out I was VERY intimidated by them because the detail is so intricate but they really weren't that bad, just time consuming:)  I colored them with prismas and gamsol.  The most difficult was the sky.  I did a lot of blending to make it look like a sunset.  The card base is lavendar lace and I matted it on night of navy.  The background is stamped with the weathered background stamp.  I wrapped a ribbon around the end and tied a bow, then placed a flower from the Pretties kit on the bow (attached it with a glue dot) and a half back pearl from the same kit.  That kit is so gorgeous that I am alway reluctant to use anything out of it, lol!!  I have 2 more of these Kincade stamps and I can't wait to ink them up.

Cardstock:  Lavendar lace, night of navy, white

Inks:  stazon black, lavendar lace

Accesories:  white grosgrain ribbon, pretties kit, prismas and gamsol

My baby girl started preschool today...I am so happy/sad!!  Any parent knows what I mean...you can't wait for them to grow a bit and do this or that and then when they do you are sad that they are growing up!  Catch 22, right!  She was so proud to be a "big girl" and loved her new Tinkerbell backpack.  She will be four in a couple of weeks and it feels like I just had her.
