This is a card that I made for my daughter's classmate, Cassidy. I really like this set, Crazy for Cupcakes. I used three different colors of Stickles on the cupcakes. They are pretty sparkly in real life:)

OMG..I can't believe that it has been over a week since I have been back from Regionals in Edmonton! I never seem to have the time anymore to play on the computer! Anyways, regionals were amazing, as always. It was so nice to see Shelley (co-founder of Stampin' Up!) and all of the demonstrators. I can never believe the wish list I come out of there with, lol! I really was convinced that I had no use for the entire Decor Elements line (my hubbie STRONGLY objects to me putting them on our walls *wink*) until.....they demonstrated putting them on these plaques...
...and vases....
...and these glass boxes that light up! Apparently you can get these at Home Depot. What a great Christmas Gift! So now I LOVE Decor Elements, lol!
There was lots of stamping too. We received the "Best Wishes & More" stamp set with our admission:) We were then giving 6 projects to do using that set and Scandanavian Season but I was talking too much so I ended up bringing home 3 of them to work on! It was a great day but of course it went too fast. It would be great if it was a 2 day event...or 3 days maybe...I guess that would be convention then, lol!
My daughter turned 5 on September 23rd so we threw her a princess party. I made Trifold pocket cards for her invitations. The girls had a lot of fun. We had tiaras, wands and fairy skirts for them to wear and they had Tinkerbell purses filled with princess stationary items to take home.
My camera has been taking terrible pictures lately. They are coming out really dark or the background is blue. Anyways...here is the recipe! The font is Disney that I had downloaded from somewhere on-line last year.

I made this 5 x 5 card for my mother's birthday using the new Inspired by Nature set. I LOVE this set!!! The main image was done using markers. I was unenthusiastically coloring the stamp at first and sort of wondering if the color combo was going to work and doubting that it would end up looking very good because you really can't tell when you are coloring the stamp. Then when I stamped it, holy cow, it was AWESOME!! After that, it was as if the card made itself:)
Actually, there is a bit of a story behind this card set. I had originally designed the card to have a pocket on the inside so that I could put her present (a ticket to the musical, Hairspray) in it. However, just before I taped the pocket down I realized that I hadn't measured the length of the ticket so I went and got it and....of course...it was too big to fit in the card. SO, I cut off the pocket and made the ticket holder instead.
The ticket holder was cut using a 6 x 9" piece of cardstock, scored at 3" and 6". I used the scallop edge punch (my favorite!) to scallop along the bottom. The artichoke grosgrain ribbon holds it closed as I didn't have any velcro or magnets left.

My son had a birthday party today for a boy who likes soccer. The main image is watercolored with an aquapainter and summer sun, cool caribbean and going gray reinkers on SU watercolor paper. Then I accented the whale from Silly Sealife with diamond Stickles. The soccer ball from Just Soccer was punched out with the 1 1/4" circle punch and added to the image with a dimensional. I used Stickles on the black part of the ball and then drew "action" marks by the tail with a black marker. The image was matte to black and then white cardstock. Across the bottom, I stamped "All Star" (from Sporting) in white craft ink and then embossed it with clear embossing powder. Above it I attached a piece of black gingham ribbon. In the top left corner I added a triangle of white magic mesh.
We really enjoyed our trip to Banff and Calgary last weekend. The weather was pretty cold and rainy (we missed the snow by about an hour...yes, I said SNOW)but we made the best of it anyways. This is a picture of my husband and I with my daughter Mackenna on top of Sulphur Mountain in Banff. If you haven't been there before, you take a magnificent gondola ride to the top and there is an amazing view of Banff and area. I have been up many times and enjoy it every time:)
We also took in the Calgary Zoo even though it was pouring rain and about +5C. Luckily, most of the exhibits are inside so we didn't miss too much.
The trip back home is a little less than 7 hours. You can tell that the trip is taking a toll on this 4 year old. Even with her DVD player and gameboy she was BORED! Imagine...back in the "olden days" you had to just sit back and enjoy the scenery, lol! To her defense though, the Calgary to Saskatoon trip has to be the most boring on the planet. It is FLAT...and stays that way for most of the trip. I was tempted to sneak in the backseat and watch a little Lilo and Stitch myself:)
I just got a HUGE Stampin Up order last week and I am joyously stamping away with all my new stuff from the Fall & Winter Catalogue:)
I was lucky enough last week to snag a ticket to Stampin' Up Regionals in Edmonton in October, yeah!! I LOVE going to Regionals and was so disappointed that there were none scheduled for western Canada last year. This one sold out in 90 minutes! It's almost like trying to get Elton John Tickets, lol! I guess I will be busy designing and stamping swap cards all month:)

I was so happy that these two sets from the Occasions mini were included in the new catalog this fall! I love Tart & Tangy!!! It's a great set for the scratch and sniff technique.

Aren't masculine cards the hardest cards to make!!! I get serious anxiety when I have a card to make for an important male in my life. This new Nature Silhouette's set though is FABULOUS! My husband's side of the family is really into nature so I know that I am going to get plenty of use out of it:) Don't mind the smudge above the wolf though. The last thing I did on the card is tack down the main image and I accidentally had night of navy ink on my finger. I was definately not going to rip the card apart for one parial fingerprint, lol!

I don't know if I really like this one:( I made it a couple of months ago and I have just left it sit on my stamping table while I've been thinking about it. I really liked the way that it watercolored but the rest of it just is not right. SO...I decided to post it so I can get on with my life, lol! AHHH....I feel so liberated!!!!

My youngest son had the most wonderful teacher last year! She is absolutely AMAZING with these little 6 and 7 year olds. I thought to start the year I would give her a card that talks about her passion as a teacher and the inspiration she gives the children every day.
After I was done the big card (5.5 x 5.5), I thought it would make a great little 3 x 3 card as well! The background is stamped with tangerine tango ink on textured tangerine cardstock. The main image was stamped in kiwi kiss ink on white cardstock and then stamped again on a separate sheet in tangerine. I cut out the tangerine flowers and attached them to image so that they could slightly overlap the edges. The sayings are stamped in black stazon.
