Double Slider Swap card

Okay, here is the double-slider card I have been working on for my monthly swap group.  This month we needed to make cards that move (i.e. waterfall, double-slider, spinner, etc)  I would have preferred to do a spinner card but I find that when they are all squished up in an envelope in the mail they don't spin very well!  Anyways, I used Serene Sunflowers again (I must be the only person I know that likes this set:)!   I used true thyme and marigold morning cardstock and inks, soon to be retired from SU 's In-Color '07 collection.  I am going to order the new colors hopefully this week!  I love them all!  I really can't wait for the new catalogue either...I need new RUBBAH!!

Background swap idea

I am considering this design for my second background swap entry.  I am concerned that cutting all of those sunflowers are going to drive me crazy!  I uses the Simple Shapes stamp set to create the faux brads on the sides.  On the marigold panel I stamped leaves in marigold and used the color spritzer with an always artichoke marker.

Cardstock:  Really Rust, Marigold morning, always artichoke, black

Ink:  Really rust, Marigold morning, black, choc chip, always artichoke

P.S.  It is snowing here again today....it's driving me nuts!  We had several beautiful days this weekend and a lot of it had melted and now this again...

Trying another Sketch Challenge

I have been doing a lot of the sketch challenges on SCS lately.  Sometimes you get in a rut and realize that all of your cards are starting to look the same.  Sometimes just by trying a new layout you remotivate your brain and you're on a roll again!  I really like this stamp set, Serene Sunflower.  In fact, I probably use it too much (can that be possible?!)!!  Anyways, here is what I used to create this:

Paper:  black, Marigold Morning (in color) and Always Artichoke (Rich Regals)

Ink:  marigold morning, always artichoke, chocolate chip, really rust

Stamp Sets:  Serene Sunflower, Canvas (background) and Delight in Life.

Accessories:  Dimensionals (the flower on the right is popped up as is the entire middle square), vintage brads, ticket corner punch (love this punch, it makes it so easy to add a little decoration to the layout!)

Quick card for Tristan's TA

I got a phone call late yesterday afternoon from a mom in Tristan's kindergarten class who is organizing a going away party for a teacher assistant.  She said the teacher suggested that I make a card for him....so here it is!

I used the Serene Sunflower set (one of my favorites!) as well as the hostess set, Riveting, and the Cheesecloth background.  I used warm earth colors (marigold morning, old olive, pumpkin pie and chocolate chip) as these colors are often more popular with men.  Also, since the children are all going to sign it...I made it a tri-fold card so there would be room on both sides.  Kindergarten writing tends to be really big, right!   I took a sheet of 12 x 12 marigold paper and cut it at 5 1/2".  Then I scored it at 4" and 8".
