Very Challenging Color Challenge:)

Holy cow!  I went to the color challenge on SCS this morning and wowzers...was it a tough one!  Tempting turquoise, real read and so saffron...I NEVER use turquoise!!  I really had to think on this one and I can't say I was thrilled with what I came up with but it sure is bright:)

I used the Rough Texture Jumbo wheel on so saffron for the background.  The corners were punched with the ticket corner punch and matte on turquoise and then to the red base.  For the main image, I stamped flowers from Bodacious Bouquets in turquoise across the bottom of white cardstock (masking them) and again in so saffron above that row.  Then I stamped different flowers from that set in real red and cut them out.  The top 2 were glued down and the middle one is on a dimensional.  Then I tied a faux bow across the middle of the so saffron panel with real red grosgrain ribbon.  The corners of the image were punched out and turquoise brads were added and then the image was put on dimensionals and attached to the base.  "Thanks so much" was added in black ink from the set, Sincere Salutations.

Like I said, I love these no layer cards so I had to try another:)!  This one required A LOT of masking so it wasn't anywhere near as quick as the other one.  I cut a piece of scrap paper into a 5 x 3 3/4 rectangle.  I placed it in the center of the white cardstock and sponged close to cocoa around it to make the frame.  Then I removed the scrap paper.  For the photo corners, I punched my photo corner punch on a piece of scrap paper.  Then I used the scrap (not the actual photo corner) for my template.  I sponged black stazon ink to make the corner.  I added 3 brads in each to make it look authentic.  Then I masked the frame and started stamping the flowers using the Bodacious Bouquet set.  Then I stamped the sentiment from the retired Best Blossoms SAB set in black.  Finally, I added a little stickles to the flower center for a bitta bling:)!  LOTS of work but it sure was fun to see how much you can do with only one piece of cardstock and ink.
