Dirty Dare ATC challenge

Taylor's challenge yesterday was to make ATC's (artist trading cards).  I love making these so I jumped on it right away!  I used the Zoofari set and watercolored him with an aquapainter and pumpkin pie reinker.  The sentiment is from a retired set Cute converse.  The background paper is Pumpkin pie DS.  The trading cards all measure 2 1/2 x 3 1/2.

Swapping to Belgium

Linda De Gucht e-mailed me this week from Belguim and ask me if I would like to take part in the their "Travel Around the World" ATC swap.  They are looking for ATC's that represent different countries and they are going to make a wall of them for their Hobbyclub expo in September.  Would I???  OF COURSE!!  SO...for my first one I went 100% patriotic and replicated our flag.  The maple leaf is from the just retired Autumn Leaf Prints (ordered it last minute in June and so glad I did:).  I covered the leaf in Versamark and embossed it with clear embossing powder, then popped it up on dimensionals.

The second one, represents our Canadian wildlife.   I have never used the "Kitty" technique before (Kitty is an amazing stamper on SCS and has a very unique style of sponging backgrounds.  She has a tutorial on Splitcoast.)  and I am not sure that I like how that part turned out.  I think it takes a lot of practice to get her look.  I will keep trying:)!  I stamped the moose from the also newly retired set, Pines, in Close to Cocoa.  The geese were then stamped in black.  After masking the geese and the moose, I sponges garden green and old olive on the bottom to make a bush.  Using the fern stamp from Watercolor Minis (I know, also retired) I stamped the tip in old olive ink and dabbed it on to make leaves.  Then I sponged barely banana just above the hedge and bashful blue for the sky.

Last ATC for swap

Okay...so here is my last ATC for the swap!  For this one I could use only brown and pink so I chose pixie pink and choc. chip.  I love Both way Blossoms and really use it a lot.  The background is wheeled in white craft ink using the Rough Texture jumbo wheel.  The trio of dots in Simple Shapes were used again as faux brads across the bottom.  The white around the flowers was driving me crazy (it just looked so plain!) so I used the color spritzer with  a close to cocoa marker for a little splatter effect.

More ATC's

Here is my second artist trading card (ATC) that I made for the chocolate swap I am in.  For this one I needed to use only a shade of brown with bashful blue.  Of course, I thought that color combo sounded like a Bundle of Joy card for sure!  (I will use any excuse to use it:)!  I have one more left to design using brown and pink, I'll post it soon as I am done.

Bella Swap

I got my first bella's from Stamping Bella yesterday and used them right away to make these ATC's for a swap that I am in.  This one is Beachabella.  I also got Mamabella and Giftabella.  I am usually pretty die-hard for Stampin' Up but these bella's are adorable!

Another ATC swap

I entered an Artist Trading Card (ATC) swap on SCS this week.  I have to make 27 cards of 3 different designs.  This is my first design.  I had to only use the colors brown and vanilla.  I used the same concept on this card as I did for a card challenge a couple of months ago, where again, you could only use chocolate and vanilla.  I really like doing these little cards, they are so cute!!

Stampers Block is broken!!!

Yeah!  Stamping is easy again!!  Wow...I had an entire week of stampers block and I was going crazy...then this afternoon I finished one project, made an ATC for my swap and made another card.  I hope that NEVER happens to me again!!  Anyways, this is an image that I stamped at my mom's house from the stamp set Give Thanks.  I love this set but since she only lives 10 minutes from me I cannot justify buying it myself:)!  I used colors from this weeks SCS color challenge ~ real red, black and kraft.  I used an aquapainter and reinkers to watercolor the apples and pail.  The rest is colored using a black marker and the color spritzer.  Anyone who has taken any of my classes know how crazy I am about that thing!!  I color spritz EVERYTHING:)!  I used a black vintage brad on the pail handle.

My first ATC...

I have never tried making Artist Trading Cards (ATC's) before so I joined a small swap.  We are just trading 1 4 1 or 2 4 2 so I can practice!  It's actually harder than a full card because you don't get very much room to work with.  The size of the cards are 2 1/2" x 3 1/2".
